Solana up 31% in a month, still 52% below a year ago

Updated on August 26, 2026.

VERIFIED Solana (SOL) is trading at $96.79 on August 26, 2026, up 0.22% from the previous session, according to Trading Economics. Over the past four weeks it has risen 30.55%, but it is still down 52.22% over the last twelve months.

What is behind the move

HYPOTHESIS Several outlets attribute the recent rally to US spot Solana ETFs, which recorded a $33.5 million inflow on August 25 — the largest single-day inflow this year — bringing cumulative net inflows to a record $1.22 billion. The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL), which combines spot exposure with staking rewards, has crossed $1 billion in cumulative inflows. This is the reading circulating this week, not a fact independently verified by this site, according to Yahoo Finance.

What this does not mean

HYPOTHESIS Some coverage tempers the ETF narrative itself: according to an analysis cited by ts2.tech, two days of ETF inflows amounted to only about 0.2% of the token's weekly increase in market value, suggesting that trading activity (volume, short covering, options and futures) plays a bigger role than ETF demand alone. And, above all, Solana rising 31% in a month does not erase the fact that it remains 52% below where it stood a year ago: this is a partial recovery within a much larger decline, not a return to highs.
